America Georgina Ferrera, a Honduran-American actress who was born on April 18 1984, is the Emmy winner for her performance as the principal character in Ugly Betty. She also appeared in Real Women Have Curves and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The sequel Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and The Dry Land. In 2005, she played an appearance in the film about skateboarding called Lords of Dogtown. She also is voice actor and voiced Astrid in How to Train Your Dragon. Ferrera was the first Latina ever to be awarded this category and was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award in 2007 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. At the time, she was only 23 years old. Ferrera is the youngest Emmy winner in this category. She was Carmen when she completed filming The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 in the summer of 2007. Tinkerbell (2008) was also included her voice acting as one of the fairies from nature. The Dry Land, which was a premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010 and was also screened at the Dallas International Film Festival. The film won the Filmmaker Award For Best. Ferrera was introduced to Ryan Piers Williams for the first time when she was directed by him in a film he was directing for students at the University of Southern California. They got engaged in June of 2010. He surprised her with a ring worth $70,000.
