Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn was born on May 12, 1972. She is known best for playing attorney Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), for which she is two times winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film. She also appeared on NBC's Whitney (2011รข€“2013) and ABC's I'm with Her 2003-2004, and TNT's Franklin & Bash 2011-2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk native, was born May 12, 1972. Her mother was an executive secretary of the United States Navy, her father was an agent with the Naval Investigative Service. The family resided in Washington, D.C., Arizona, Japan, and often moved around during her youth. Following the footsteps of her father and grandmother and mother, she was a student of drawing, painting and architecture at the age of a child. As she pursued her love of the art of the visual, she found a passion for acting. She was also introduced to modern theater in college. She earned a bachelor's degree in Studio Art from George Mason University in 1994. In college, Seehorn was looking to pursue a career in theater after the encouragement of her acting coach. She was employed in ancillary positions in the theatre industry in D.C. to try to be noticed. She was able to secure certain parts in local theatre productions. But she was forced to do odd jobs to earn a living. In order to pay for the expenses, she also took on roles in short instructional films. Soon she began to be part of more television productions. The most frequent comparisons she was made was to Bea Arthur, who she described as "very wry," "sarcastic, and knowing" women. But, the majority of the roles she played were part-time series that ended after one or two seasons. In the month of May, 2014, Seehorn was cast in the Breaking Bad spin-off prequel series Better Call Saul. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler, a lawyer and the love interest of the titular Jimmy McGill/Saul Wellman (Bob Odenkirk).
