Charisma Carpenter

Charisma Carpenter was born on July 23rd 70 years ago. Cordelia Chase played the character as Cordelia in Buffy the Vampire Slayer's supernatural series (1997-1999) and its spin-off series Angel (1999-04). Also, she was a part of Charmed (2004) and Kendall Casablanca's in Veronica Mars (2006). Rebecca Sewell was in The Lying Game (2012)-2013. Lacy was the main character in The Expendables film franchise (2010)-2012. Carpenter was born in Las Vegas (Nevada), the daughter of Christine Carpenter, a bird sanctuary worker as well as Don Carpenter, an entrepreneur. She is of Spanish (from her maternal grandfather), French, and German descent. Carpenter attended the Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. Carpenter was an active member of a group of dancers and singers which was a part of Las Vegas Valley. Carpenter's family relocated to Rosario Beach (Baja California, Mexico) at the age of Carpenter was 15. She was a student at Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. Carpenter was on a tour to Europe after graduating. Carpenter returned to San Diego in 1991 and worked as an aerobics instructor and videostore clerk and property manager. In 1991, she was employed as an official cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers football team. In 1992, she moved to Los Angeles.While swimming in San Diego in 1991, she and two male colleagues were assaulted by Henry Hubbard Jr., a former San Diego police officer and serial rapist, who tried to subdue them with a gun. In the course of the fight she and her two friends along with Hubbard were shot, forcing Hubbard to flee the scene. Both of them survived the attack. Hubbard was taken into custody and convicted, and sentenced to 56 years in prison, for a series of sexual assaults. Carpenter took Hubbard his flashlight from the police station on the beach. He had left it at the beach. The flashlight turned out to be an important piece of evidence against Hubbard.
