Thora Birch

Thora Birch was born March 11th 1983. She is an American producer, actress, and director. In 1988, she made her debut in a film with Purple People Eater. For this performance, she was awarded an Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress Under nine years old". Birch became a cult an infant, appearing in films like All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated for an BAFTA nomination. In 2001, she won as Best Actress for Ghost World. Birch was also nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003 for her role as the lead character in Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story. Birch was also featured in Dungeons & Dragons (2000) and The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004) and Dark Corners (2006). She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003. Birch also played the character of Whisperer Mary/ Gamma on the Walking Dead's season 10. Birch was born in Los Angeles, the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Birch is German-Jewishwith Scandinavian and French-Canadian in her ancestry. [6] Thora is her name. It comes from the Norse god Thor, thunder and lightning. If she were a child, that would be her full name. She has a younger brothernamed Kian Bolt Birch.Birch's parents were both former film actors who were in the film Deep Throat. Based on their own experiences working in the entertainment business, they were reluctant to encourage her, but were persuaded by Thora's picture to agents by a babysitter who saw her imitation of commercials. Birch was just four years old when she received her first major break when the babysitter invited her to audition for an Quaker Oats advertisement.
