Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston), the national director of Mary Kay and Freddie Wright, a
pharmacist executive. She was born and raised in San Diego. She began her
career as a model in the year 1980 when she was 14 years old, and was a model
in Paris as well as Japan. After high school graduation, she became an actor.
She was cast in the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), for which she was
nominated three times for a Daytime Emmy. In the first season the show, she
began to fall in love with fellow cast member Dane Witherspoon, whom she
married in the year 1986. In 1987, she appeared in the title role in The
Princess Bride. She was cast as Santa Barbara but left to appear in Denial
(1990) alongside Jason Patric. She was introduced to Sean Penn in 1990 while
she was appearing in State of Grace (1990). They had daughters Dylan Frances
with him and the son was called Hopper Jack. Robin was back in Hollywood with
Tara, one of the most significant roles of her career, following a break. She
was an amazing actress , and a phenomenal actor. In the following film, she
played Toys (1992) alongside Robin Williams, and she performed a hilarious
role. Wright was also in 1994's blockbuster hit Forrest Gump (1994),
co-starring with Tom Hanks. Wright was nominated to win a Golden Globe Award
for her part in the film as Jenny. She was also given a tiny part in The
Crossing Guard (1995), starring Jack Nicholson. After having turned down 14
roles she was cast in the title role of MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996), directed
by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan Freeman and Stockard Channing. Later,
she appeared in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997) co-starring William Hurt.
